It's a fantasy based comic (although it really does away with a fair few tropes common to the genre and has some elements of cosmic horror) about a necromancer with a gripe against the leadership of the kingdom that exiled him. Admittedly there's more than that, and it's rather complicated so it's hard to summarise.
You finished AMFP in one go? That's spectacular. Admittedly it finished downloading in the evening so I was pretty tired when I first fired it up, so I didn't really get far, although it's creepy as hell. I think so far, the most unnerving part is that it starts in the protagonist's own home, yet there are things in there that he didn't seem to be aware of, and the atmosphere is still nightmarish - especially with the eerie footsteps when you're not moving. Interesting that the sanity drop due to darkness was left out, although I think that's mostly to do with the fact that Daniel had nyctophobia whilst Oswald doesn't. Still, I hardly used the lantern in the Dark Descent, despite the penalties. I actually found the darkness more comforting, as it meant that the gatherers couldn't see Daniel - it was safer. Although passing out whilst a brute is nearby is rarely a good thing >>
